Disclaimer

Effective date: April 24, 2026

Read this before relying on any ProfitLens output. ProfitLens is a sourcing-decision tool, not advice. The recommendations and prices it surfaces are estimates, and your purchasing decisions are entirely your own.

ProfitLens provides information, not advice

Nothing displayed in the ProfitLens app or on this website is financial, investment, business, tax, or legal advice. The Service is a software tool that surfaces eBay market pricing and produces algorithmic Buy / Maybe / Pass recommendations against rules you configure. Use the output as one input among many; do your own diligence before spending money on inventory.

Pricing data is historical, not predictive

ProfitLens shows pricing data sourced from eBay’s public Browse API. That data reflects past or currently-listed sale information for items similar to what you scanned. Past sale prices do not predict future sale prices. Demand, condition, listing quality, season, and many other factors affect what your specific item will actually sell for.

Buy / Maybe / Pass verdicts are algorithmic suggestions

Verdicts are calculated from three things: (a) the eBay pricing data we retrieved at the moment of your scan, (b) the cost you entered, and (c) the sourcing rules you configured (minimum sale price, minimum profit multiplier, risk appetite). They are not guarantees, predictions, or advice. Your own judgment, knowledge of the item, and the condition of the unit in front of you should always override what the app says.

You make the decision, you bear the risk

All purchasing decisions, capital outlay, inventory holding costs, and resale outcomes — positive or negative — are entirely your responsibility. ProfitLens and Nudge Social Co are not liable for any losses, missed opportunities, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or reliance on its output.

ProfitLens is not affiliated with eBay

ProfitLens is an independent third-party tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise officially associated with eBay Inc. References to “eBay” throughout the Service identify the public marketplace whose data we query. Trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Data accuracy and availability

Pricing and listing data is fetched live from eBay’s public APIs at the moment you scan. We do not control that data. It may be:

  • Incomplete (missing recent sales, missing certain regions or categories).
  • Delayed (eBay’s indexing is not real-time).
  • Inaccurate (mislabeled listings, outlier prices, fraudulent listings).
  • Temporarily unavailable (eBay API outages, rate limiting, network errors).

We make no warranty about the completeness, accuracy, or availability of any data displayed by the Service. If a scan returns thin or no data, the right answer is usually to not rely on a verdict from that scan.

AI photo identification is best-effort

The photo scanner uses an AI model (Anthropic’s Claude) to identify items from images you submit. AI identifications can be wrong, especially for: ambiguous packaging, similar-looking variants, off-brand items, items in poor lighting, and partial photos. Always confirm the identified item matches what you actually have before acting on the verdict.

Use at your own risk

You agree to use ProfitLens at your own risk and acknowledge that the Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, as set out in our Terms of Service. If any provision of this Disclaimer is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
